Frequently Asked Questions

1. What else should we bring?
We wouldn't want you to forget your camera to capture your adventure on film. Of course we also recommend that you come prepared for the weather. Since it is often cooler on the water than it is on land, layering your clothing is a good idea. Also, sunscreen and sunglasses provide protection even on overcast days.

2. Can we drink booze?
Yes you can but using your own discretion is advised. This is a memorable day for you and you might not want to wreck it by getting all googly eyed. Guides retain the right to end the trip if guests get out of hand.

3. How do we get licenses?
Your guide can write one up for you at the beginning of your trip.  If a fishing fresh water above the Mission bridge  you'll have to pre-purchase your license at a sporting goods store.

4. Do we need our own fishing gear?
All necessary high end gear for the day will be provided by your guide. If you have your own special rod/gear you are more than welcome to bring it along.

5. How many guests per boat?
The maximum number of guests per trip is 4 per boat unless stated otherwise.

6. Do we need a lunch?
The cost of lunch is included in the prices you see on our website. This includes a deli style sandwich, salad and drink per person. Of course, bringing extra snacks and beverages is usually a good idea.

7. When do we pay for the trip?
A deposit of 30% of the total price is required when booking your trip. The balance is due at the beginning of the trip and is payable to your guide unless other arrangements have been made. Payments can be made by Visa, bank drafts or cash.

8. What is your cancellation policy?
All deposits are non-refundable so cancellation insurance is recommended.

9. How do I get to departure sites?
See the maps page on our website for directions.

10. Do I need to tip my guide?
Gratuities are always appreciated by our guides. If you are happy with your trip and the fish you caught, around 10% of your total cost is the norm.

12. How do we take our fish home?
If you have your own transportation to and from the days departure site, we recommend that you leave a cooler packed with ice in your vehicle for the day so that your catch will have a cool ride home. If you are from out of town, our guides will provide you with bags for your catch and most hotels will freeze the fish for you. All sturgeon fishing is catch and release only.
