What's Hot Now

Seasons Greetings!

Now that Christmas has passed and the New Year is quickly approaching, we just want to take a minute to wish you all a healthy and happy New Year.

The busiest part of the season was filled with
beautiful, crisp days and some excellent coho,
               chum and sturgeon fishing.

Although most days at this time of year are pretty cold and wet here on the West Coast, it is now prime Steelhead time.  These winter species are moving through the Fraser River and its tributaries very quickly and are often reaching weights up the the mid-teens and more.  Catch 'em while you can!

Trout fishing has been excellent on a few local lakes with the most recent day yielding a few rainbows, a bunch of cutties and several bull trout, one of which was 26 inches!

Three to four foot chunks of ice up in the canyon are proof of the below freezing water temperatures in some parts of the river.   As a result, sturgeon fishing has been pretty slow in the past few weeks.

Of course, with the fresh start of a New Year comes new opportunity to make even bigger and better fish tales come true - a prospect that all of us here at Kodiak are looking forward to!

Hope to see you in 2008!
